Discovery project the shag

 Hey Michael here. I am very pleased to have completed my goal of researching my favourite bird The Shag

Marine Park

 I enjoyed a walk along the waterfront at Marine Park with my friends

Cafe outing

 I got a nice suprise when Peter showed up and asked a few of us men to go to quirks Cafe for a catch up. It's been awhile since we hung out. I really enjoyed it. 

Seal spotting

 I had a fun time walking around the Mt with mates in Discovery. We were on the look out for Oscar the seal and we managed to see a seal! 

Coast Care

This week both of our Discovery groups helped volunteer with Coast care. In March we weeded the sand dunes & this week we went back to the same area at 192 Marine Parade & replanted 2 different types of plants to protect our sand dunes. We worked hard & dug holes to a certain depth before planting the new plants. 

Sonic cinema

 It was cool going to watch Garfield the cat movie at Sonic cinema down at the historic village. I enjoyed some popcorn and juice while watching the movie. 

Kings birthday on the strand

I had great fun going to a community event, celebrating the kings birthday with some fun games of mini golf and curling the strand. I'm looking forward to having an extra day off Mahi this week.

 

Goldie Oldies disco

 I had a fantastic time jamming to some good old tunes at the goldies oldies disco. I had yummy pumpkin soup and fried bread for lunch! What an awesome way to finish my week.

BBQ at Fergusson Park

 My friends & I went shopping at New World for sauages & fresh bread, we then went to Fergusson park & cooked our lunch on the bbq. I know how to use the bbq well & I had a choice day out. 

Swimming

 We went swimming at the greerton pools, I like doing walking laps and getting in some exercise.  I had fun!

Sonic cinema

 We went to Sonic Cinema in the Historic Village and watched the movie "Runt". It was about a girl and her dog and was set in Australia. I really liked it

Easter

 We've got a few long weekends coming up starting with Easter! I was very lucky to get a chocolate bunny that I enjoyed over the weekend! 

Talent quest

 I was on stage singing for the talent quest. I sung with the kapahaka group and my own song coming in from the cold by Bob Marley. It was a great day with lots of awesome singing! 

Researching my favourite bird the Shag

 In discovery we did some research on my favourite bird, the shag! I like looking out to see if it's sitting on the street light down the road. Did you know there are 36 different types of shag! 

Connect 20

 We went to the citz club for lunch with connect 20. I liked catching up with my friends and having a yummy lunch 

Coast Care

 This week our Discovery group went to 192 Marine Parade beach side and meet up with Matt from Coast Care. Matt explained to us about how Sand dunes protect our beaches. We helped weed the sand dunes by removing the yellow wild flower weeds. After our hard work we enjoyed a picnic lunch and put our feet in the ocean.

Sailability

 I love sailing with sailability. I look forward to going every 2nd week and catching up with my sailing buddies. 

Dj spin in the house!

  We had a whole day Disco and dj spin came to play all the good sounds. I did so much dancing, what an awesome day with my mates

Woodwork

This week in woodwork we painted and levelled out a plank of wood that we will use to hnag our bags up. We painted the wood beforehand and then used a screw driver to screw the hocks onto to hang our bags on.
